Raised on the Isle of White around 1915 by Mr G Wratton of Howgate Lane, Bembridge. Introduced to the world in 1932 by Stuart Low & co. The apples received an Award of Merit from the RHS in 1949.
The fruits are very large in size, and round / conical in shape. The skin is green/ yellow overflushed with an earthy orange, with broken red stripes. The flesh is creamy white, sub acid in flavour, fine and slightly aromatic
