Raised at the East Malling Research Station in 1966 by Dr Alston, as a cross between James Grieve and Golden Delicious. It retains many of the properties of Golden Delicious.
The fruits are medium in size, round and slightly oblong in shape.
The skin is yellowy green often with a flush of earthy orange on top. The fruit is crisp to the bite, juicy and sweet. The flesh is creamy, rather uneven in texture and slightly aromatic.
